CraftTown: A Return to Knitting

Quite a few of my friends have gotten themselves knocked up lately (okay actually I think all of them were probably planned, but it's more fun to say knocked up). And with the babies come the baby hats. I used to be a fairly avid knitter and in the past I have made hats shaped like strawberries, hats shaped like ducks (complete with a little duck bill and duck booties!), and just plain ol' hats. Baby hats are actually my favorite thing to make, as they're so small they whip up really quickly, and I don't usually get a chance to get bored with the project.

It's been a while since I've really knitted (a few lines here and there on the world's stupidest scarf don't count), but I love to make folks homemade things, so I've blown the dust off of my needles and I've found an amazing pattern for the next hat. I want it to be a surprise for the mom to be, so you're going to have to wait until after the baby shower for a peek.

However, I have two other hats that I want to make and I need your help. One is for a girl and one is unisex. Got any ideas? What kind of hat should I make?

Day 4: In Which We Find Ourselves Soaking In Hot Water

Here are some more pics from Costa Rica. This was our last full day in Arenal, and we hiked up to theĀ  volcano viewing area, and then soaked in the warm waters of Tabacon hot springs. I decided I wanted to soak in hot springs on every vacation.
