Today Randall and I played doggy daycare and hung out with Sushi all day. Sushi belongs to my sister and is half Corgi, half mini-eskimo and 100% adorable. Except the part where she vomited on me in the car. That part wasn't so adorable.

My friend Camille is from the South and is pretty particular about her sweet tea. When I heard that she was "surprised that McDonalds has really good sweet tea," I knew I had to give it a try.
However I have this thing where I think I'm better than McDs. I can't help it, I just feel that way. They're not my fast-food of choice. Lucky for me, there are folks here at Sugar HQ who are not as snobby as I am, and frequent McDs on a regular basis. Today I pitched them a dollar and said, "please bring me back a sweet tea." There was a tiny ribbing when they came back (about how unlike everyone else, they're not above McDs), but they did indeed bring me back a sweet tea.
Two things.
1) It is GIGANTIC. I said thanks for the gargantuan one, and they told me that that was what you get for a dollar.
2) It was surprisingly good. However I'm not from the south, so I wasn't sure my opinion would count. So I made Dhatt give it a go (he's from SC). When I asked if he'd tried it before he said, "I assume badness, that weird from-syrup," but I made him try it anyways, and he said, "surprisingly decent."
So there you have it. McDs Sweet Tea is surprisingly good (although a dollar's worth is definitely too much for me). So get over yourself and go try one and tell me what you think.
I know I might be in the minority here, but Ben (previously Henry, lovingly called Benry in my household) is one of my favorite characters on Lost. (Since we're just becoming acquainted, I should also mention that like many other folks I am captivated by the storyline that is Lost.)
So when I read that Michael Emerson (who, and I know I can't be the only one here, reminds me a wee bit of Thom Yorke) was nominated for an Emmy today, I said in my best native Northern Californian tone, "that's hella great."
Oh and while I'm complaining, can I just say, honestly little blackberry this is the best picture you could take? It looks like I've added the watercolor photoshop filter to it. Do I need to trade you in for an iPhone? Well, do I?
I'd like to think that I'd care about this band even if they weren't from Beijing. They're called Car Sick Cars, and the singer/guitarist has described them as "Panda Noise."
How can you not enjoy a band that creates panda noise?
It should be mentioned that I love eating. If my waistline doesn't give it away, then maybe the constant food stains, and mouthful while talking might. If that's not enough for you then I'll also mention that I used to answer to the name Yum. I mean, who in the world answers to the name Yum? And if that's still not enough, then I'll also bring up the fact that for years I drew everything I ate. And I can even tell you that eight years ago today I ate a sesame bagel, a quesadilla, popcorn, and future pasta. I apparently also saw that movie Chicken Run for free. I don't even remember seeing it, but it apparently wasn't any good.
Sorry for the poor pic, but on my way home today, I noticed that the silver-painted man was coming home from a hard day of standing around acting like a statue for tourists.
I would have taken his pic up close, but he seemed exhausted, and besides that's what he does all day. I mean would you want someone to come up to you and do your job during off hours?
I don't know if you've noticed -- although I can't see how you couldn't have, -- but this FroYo revival is getting a little out of control. There was the pinkberry hype and ever since then it's been this non-stop barrage of FroYo shops. I recently went to one in Sacramento called Yogurtagogo where they actually have you serve it up yourself, and add your own toppings. It's probably my favorite so far, it was delicious, but I'm sure it has something to do with my control-freak tendencies and the ability to spoon it up myself.
So tell me, are you in to this whole FroYo revival?
